A look back at the accomplishments of JAXA over the past year.

If you found that video as inspiring as I did, perhaps you’ll consider joining the Mobile Infantry!

  1. The ISS is probably the most interesting thing is humanity is doing at the moment, and yet most people neither know of or care about it in any way.

It’s too bad they had to cancel a bunch of stuff they had originally planned for it . . . it kind of sounds like not much is actually going on up there now.

    • It’s funny how repair/maintenance of the station gets more mainstream publicity than the science being conducted there. Although, I suppose a lot of the studies are relatively mundane by today’s standards.

For me, the various unmanned probes are where the excitement’s at.

  2. By the way, astronaut Douglas H. Wheelock shares some breathtaking images from above. @Astro_Wheels ( twitter / twitpic )

  3. True — the unmanned probes are the best stuff now. I just really lament that the ISS is probably gonna quietly die without really accomplishing much, and that this might dissuade the U.S. Congress to not authorize much for future endeavours like a manned trip to Mars or a permanent base on the Moon, or something.
